Modyf is a company active in selling work clothing and safety materials, offering its customers products tailored to the needs of the various trades in the fields of metal, wood, automotive, construction and industry.
Modyf stands for “modern, dynamic, and functional”. Therefore all Modyf products have to fulfill highest quality standards. Thanks to the positive development of the mail order business as well as the further strategic developments of Modyf´s business units, the company in the recent years has successfully established itself on the market. Today, it is represented in all major European countries.
The specifications: reducing complexity, improving transparency
Efficiency and efficacy represent a central competitive factor for the distribution industry. In fact a continuous developing variety of products and services, higher supply demands and an internationally growing daily business are among the main challenges of every company working in this industry.
At the same time no losing´s in service quality and delivery time must occur. In this context ERP systems that offer the necessary flexibility and information transparency become more and more important in order to optimally meet business requests. These were also the main reasons why Modyf France opted for a new ERP system able to cover the enhanced business requirements.
The new ERP strategy foresaw the introduction of Microsoft Dynamics AX and the vertical solution WÜRTHPHOENX Trade+, developed by the IT company belonging to the international acting Würth-Group.

The solution: an ERP system made for the wholesale distribution
Microsoft Dynamics AX as basic ERP platform convinced Modyf France, above all, due to its open architecture as well as the well known and intuitive user interface typical of the Microsoft Office products. This primarily led to cost savings concerning training activities. Furthermore with the integrated vertical solution Trade+ the specific requests of trading companies are widely covered by a single standard package. An important issue during the selection process to Modyf was also the possibility of managing the logistics services in outsourcing. The reorganization of warehouse processes should have no negative impact on a flexible and efficient workflow in this area. Moreover to guarantee an efficient customer care, the current CRM in use has been replaced.
From now on sales and marketing activities will be managed within the CRM module of Dynamics AX. Not at least flexible reporting tools were a central aspect in Modyf´s requirements. In this regard the Trade+ enhancements to the Dynamics AX standard provide highest usability for everyday work. They are scalable and afford evaluation possibilities by offering an interface well known from Microsoft
Office products. Moreover they enable planning and forecast scenarios, which can be adjusted to the customer needs in few simple steps.
