IT Network Management: The adoption of NetEye in Aquafil

Aquafil is an Italian company located in Arco di Trento with around 2.000 employees working in 12 production plants in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, the US, China and Thailand.

Specialized in the production of nylon 6, European leader in the fibers for textile flooring, the company has advanced technology in the engineering plastics and a significant experience in the production of yarn for clothing.

Better manage complexity: the selection process

To manage the complexity of its own IT in the different plants, Aquafil needed an easy to use system able to represent in an immediate and clear way the heterogeneous infrastructure. After an evaluation phase among various monitoring systems, the final choice felt on WÜRTHPHOENIX NetEye.

NetEye can be easily integrated in preexisting environments. Therefore, with only five consulting days, the system went prouductive giving the IT responsible the possibility to operate autonomously in their IT-System Management activities. From a functional point of view NetEye offers not only the monitoring of the network, hardware and applications, but also a complete package of integrated solutions able to facilitate the work of the IT staff. NagVis, Cacti, GLPI for example are some of these tools integrated in the solution.

After the installation of NetEye Aquafil could manage its infrastructure in a clear and simple way, guaranteeing not only a better service to the users, but also an improved availability of the entire infrastructure.

The main requirements

  • Manage acomplex and heterogeneous IT infrastructure, located in different plants
  • Introduce an easy monitoring system that can be easily integrated in a preexisting infrastructure
  • Gain a total independency from the supplier
  • Adopt a centralized and complete monitoring solution

Opinions on NetEye

“After the implementation of NetEye we are able to promptly react in case of possible errors with a better usage of the resources. NetEye is a proven solution with limited acquisition and maintenance costs thanks to its Open Source nature. We see this model also as a valid example for all the companies that would like to increase their competitive capability.”
