Vitecgroup renews its Network Management strategy

Vitec Group (formerly known as Manfrotto) is a leading provider of professional camera and lighting equipment for photography, video and entertainment. The company runs branch offices in Italy, Slovakia, Israel, Mexico and the US and currently employs a workforce of more than 1,000 people generating sales in excess of 140 million euro. The company´s products are used by almost all world-famous film producers and photographers, including Helmut Newton and National Geographic magazine.

More efficient IT management

To successfully support its business with reliable IT instruments, Vitec Group had been looking for a Network Management solution for monitoring its IT infrastructure for some time. A major criterion was the simplicity in everyday use. All components, services and protocols (whether DNS, DHCP or Exchange) had to be readily accessible in a comprehensive overview within one single Network Management solution, generating hierarchical alert messages in case of faults.

To cover its requirements Vitec Group Italy decided to implement WÜRTHPHOENIX NetEye, a Network Management solution based on Nagios. With NetEye the customer was confident to meet its demands without requiring complicated installation projects or five-figure euro costs. NetEye furthermore was expected to be simple to use but nevertheless representing a complete Network Management solution providing added value throughout the whole company.

As important standard feature, all monitoring results in NetEye are visualised in comprehensive reports that provide an overview of the entire network infrastructure. NetEye includes also a complete Asset and Inventory Management module managing all software and hardware assets and making it faster and easier to track adherence to SLA´s with external suppliers.
