From Oracle JD Edwards to Microsoft Dynamics AX
Würth Canada bets above all on flexibility in introducing a new ERP-System
Würth Canada Limited was founded in Montreal, Québec in 1971. Its Head office has been located in Mississauga, Ontario near Toronto since 1986. Since the late 80's and the early 90's Würth Canada has established itself in the Automotive / Trucking marketplace.
Nowadays the company counts more than 375 sales representatives servicing customers from Victoria, British Columbia to St-John's Newfoundland.
The specifications: more flexibility, broad scalability
Flexibility and scalability: despite being already buzzwords and widely used when introducing a new ERP System, from Würth Canada’s point of view, they were the central aspects in their decision to migrate from JD Edwards to Microsoft Dynamics AX and the industry solution WÜRTHPHOENIX Trade+.
Würth Canada settled to the new system for various reasons. On the one hand, technological aspects such as the scalable architecture and the simple integration into the whole Microsoft world lead to the decision in favor of Microsoft Dynamics AX. On the other hand, investment security and the broad functional degree in covering wholesale industry characteristics played a decisive role in opting for Trade+.

The main requests
- Manage a growing complexity in order and acquisition processes
- A software easy to implement and familiar to the Microsoft world
- A single software able to support the entire supply chain
- Customers data always up to date and easily retrievable
- A solution made for the specific industry
- Introduction of a solution easily integrable in the existing Microsoft environment
The solution: covering all industry needed requirements
WÜRTHPHOENIX Trade+ based on Microsoft Dynamics AX, meets both typically wholesale requirements as well as Würth specific needs and was therefore the ideal candidate within the selection process. In fact Trade+ is optimized for rollouts within the motherhouse, but is also succeeding in being effectively applied for single companies within the Group.
The main advantage was given by the possibility to integrate all processes into one single solution. Due to its familiarity with the Microsoft world, Trade+ was easy to implement and saved training and formation time because of its well known user interface similar to Microsoft Office products. Not at least, the extended reporting and forecast functionalities in Würth Phoenix´s solution are important advantages for Würth Canada´s management. Flexible data views and meaningful graphic illustrations allow to analyze any kind of information, depending on the individual market needs.
Altogether by the introduction of Microsoft Dynamics AX and Trade+, Würth Canada was able to reduce operational complexity without renouncing the functional depth for all daily business aspects, being so able to ideally support the continuous company´s growth.
Opinions: a complete solution covering the entire Supply Chain
"The ease of integrating various trade partners - both customers and vendors - by utilizing the Dynamics AX AIF and BizTalk 2009, will help position us to capture more market share and reduce workloads moving forward.
This is key to maintaining sustained growth while increasing productivity within our internal operations. Not only does this help to streamline our operations, but provides added benefits to all of our trading partners. Productivity gains in this area translates into real ROI.“
