Sicurezza ICT – Milan, 28th February 2024

On 28 February 2024, in Milan, was held the conference Sicurezza ICT (ICT Security), an annual event dedicated to cyber-security and corporate data and information protection.

The event offered the audience the opportunity to receive new information about cyber security concepts such as Security and Cloud, Cyber Risk Management and much more. Thanks to the speech by Mirko Ioris, Technical Consultant of our Cyber Security team, participants were also able to increase their knowledge about the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) and Exploit Prediction Scoring System (EPSS), two scoring systems to calculate the severity of a software vulnerability.

CVSS is a standard metric in cyber security used in vulnerability analysis software to quantify the severity of a vulnerability with a numerical score. Although a vulnerability may be severe, the probability of it being exploited with an exploit is not necessarily so, which is why EPSS comes into play. This system offers a probabilistic approach to calculating the likelihood of a weakness being exploited in the following 30 days.

Despite EPSS being a relatively new system, our innovative SATAYO software offers a wide range of metrics, positively differentiating itself from other software on the market and enabling companies to obtain a complete and accurate overview of their cyber vulnerabilities. This facilitates more effective management and analysis of such vulnerabilities.
