Preventing and combating cyber crime

Partnership agreement between Würth Phoenix and state police.

A strategic partnership agreement between the cyber security operations centre of the Trentino-South Tyrol postal and communications police and Würth Phoenix was signed on 7 August 2023 at the Bolzano police headquarters. The agreement provides for mutual information sharing as a circular flow of information, forming an essential basis for an effective prevention strategy in the area of cyber security and for the protection of networks and critical infrastructures.

Under the agreement, the postal police will provide intelligence on security-critical incidents and cyber attacks that can be integrated into Würth Phoenix’s red teaming processes. In turn, Würth Phoenix will supply information on possible resources used by threat actors to organise attacks against critical targets. By detecting such indicators ahead of time, attacks can be effectively contained and possibly even prevented. The source of this information is the Würth Phoenix threat intelligence platform SATAYO – now a recognised name in the world of cyber threat intelligence. SATAYO was developed entirely in-house by our IT security department SEC4U. It is the first platform to deliver an Exposure Assessment Index Value (EAIV) to assess an organisation’s exposure to attacks.

The agreement also states that training courses will be organised to spread a culture of prevention in the IT sector, raise awareness of potential risks in the digital environment, and devise strategies to enhance the prevention and combating of cyber crime.

This partnership represents a significant step forward in strengthening digital security. Würth Phoenix is ready to make a concrete contribution to protecting organisations and sensitive infrastructures against increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks, with the goal of creating an optimally secure and resilient digital environment.
